Transferring Database?

Hello, guys.

I need a help here. Let me use example:
I have two forums, one located at abc.com using SMF and the other at xyz.com using MyBB. I want to move the boards with posts and members from abc.com to xyz.com so the forum will now run at new domain and new forum software. I believe what I need to do is to transfer the database at abc.com to xyz.com? How exactly can I do this?

You need to use this http://www.mybb.com/downloads/merge-system/ to move from SMF to Mybb. Just follow the instructions - it should be easy but it may take some time.

I have tried that but I think that only works if you are still on the same website/domain but just want to change your forum software. While in my case, if you read my introduction story at the first post, involves different domain and host.

You would have to install MyBB at abc.com/whatever and run the MyBB converter to change your SMF database into a MyBB database. Then you could merge the 2 MyBB databases (not sure how to do this but I know others in the community do) into one.

Whatever software you are moving to should have a converter from MyBB to X Software. That should be pretty straight forward. So to recap:

1. Install MyBB on abc.com/whatever
2. Run MyBB convter
3. Merge the 2 MyBB databases
4. Install X software on new domain
5. Run X software converter on the MyBB databse
