Unless it's with an in-group of trash talkers, it's not very cool. It's certainly immature and cave-mannish.

Anyway, the point being is that trash-talkers cannot keep their basketball language only among themselves. In that case, it would be bullying (belittiling etc.).

So anyway, do you feel trash talk is good at all or could it be excused for an in-group of tough boys (or girls LOL)?
 
Anyone that does this are uneducated twits with no morals. It just ruins everything.
 
I say trash talking is allot of crap trash and pointless. rather have an good information talk rather then talking about crap.
 
Isn't it funny we forbid bad language for kids, but when someone is old enough to say it, then we say it's immature? 😵
 
The point of trash talking is to provoke your opponent to perform better to increase the challenge because there is nothing rewarding about an easy win. It is also done to provoke fellow team mates to perform better because they are in the process of being defeated by what should be an easy to beat opponent and there is nothing rewarding about that either.

It has nothing to do with your morals or your intelligence nor should it be something you take personally and carry around you like a grudge. You should see it for what it is which is motivational material and if you took it that way then you would aspire to do better and then you would find the trash talking will cease.

I agree When battling its fine if the members where like Boo we can win etc.. But none stop talking and swearing and talking crap about why the members voted for that site instead of theirs does make it a bit annoying and personal
 
It's fun to trash talk when you're playing or watching sports. I do it all the time and same with my team - mates or people that I watch sports with.

The kings of trash talk would be North Koreans, of course. They used to have a site making fun of their propaganda.

Trash talking is normally very immature - so unless it's with your brothers/sisters, it's not a good idea. But I know some cultures like say, the one on "White Men Can't Jump", revel in it, but seriously, talk like that from strangers, even just a sentence is grounds for a fight, maybe murder!
