Personally I don't understand why we don't recycle more glass. Unlike plastic it's endlessly recyclable and it is far less harmful when it comes to food storage.
The chemicals found in plastic are having a profound affect on male fertility so the sooner we get rid of it the better because contrary to popular belief, world populations are set to start decreasing at an alarming rate.

My only concern with using plastic & plastic-like substances like this is what happens when it breaks down. It becomes micro-plastics into the environment that can never be cleaned up. Similar to how I don't care for those t-shirts made with plastic bottles.
But until we find better solutions to plastic & oil, this is the best option.
