How do you deal with troublesome admins on your forum? Ever had them try and harm your forum?

This recently happened to me, my co-admin left and thought it necessary to delete a bunch of posts at the same time.

I have never had such kind of administrator before, fortunately. I'm sorry to hear you had to be in such situation. If that person has left, there is nothing else you can do. Just be careful when picking staff members in the future. Choose carefully. When you are new you may have to depend on applications, but once you are bigger just choose from active and good members. Safer that way.

Perks of giving someone you don't know power on your forum.

I would never employ a co-admin down the line, and give them full access until they have put a serious amount of work in.

If you are going down the co-admin route, do it from day one with 50/50 responsibility for everything, including costs.

I have never had an administrator cause any kind of harm to any of my forums mainly because I don't worry about getting any administrators for the forum for a very long while, if I even hire any at all, which I probably won't since I'm super protective of my forum and will only pick anybody I super super trust. 😀

I would never let people like this into an admin spot; I always have anyone stick around for a looooong time first.

For that very reason, I don't allow others to have access to the ACP, the only people that I May give access to the ACP is friends I know in real life.

I am sorry to hear that this has happened to you, better luck in the future.

Just make sure you back your forum up regularly. That'll be insurance against anything permanently being lost.

I would only ever co-admin someone if I knew them well enough and trusted them. It wouldn't make sense to allow a complete stranger to have administrative permissions on your forum.

same here, as for my forum, I put my brothers at full mods with me being the only admin, if I need to move one of them up to admin, I am sure they would try to do the best they can on the side of having their own forums

Never had this happen before, I have had another admin from another forum try to hack my forum. I got really scared lol.

I would never make someone else admin or co-owner. Don't really see the reason for such a thing, I like to rule alone.

If my forum ever gets to popular for me to handle alone I'd probably hire some mods, but that's about it.
