I do admit that Facebook is a better platform. But I don't use it because I feel that it's invasive and that was the sole reason I shut it down to begin with.

This is the same reason why I switched from MySpace to Facebook back in the day. My friends/family were all switching and I switched to keep up with them.

Trump is a Billionaire. And his SPAC is getting a lot of support, so I think it's doable. Even if he fails, he has friends that can support him in different ways. His former advisor has a company called GETTR.
I'll be on the platform. I support President Trump. Yeah, yeah, I know many of you hate his tweets, I know many of you hate Trump, but he kept us safe. He enacted policies that was "America first." Economy was booming under Trump.
So spare me your hatred of Trump.

We really need to get back to the topic of his social media platform.
Well, I was only bringing up the social media platform, not the politics behind it.
I wouldn't join TruthSocial for same reason I don't have presence on Facebook, Instagram or any other similar platform because they simply don't interest me. In my view forums provide the best outlet for meaning conversation plus I don't want my real life details spread across the Internet. The only other platform I do use, relentlessly, is YouTube for music.
As far as TruthSocial is concerned it seems to be fraught with problems. I don't know what the signup procedure is but I've read that there is a queue of well over half a million potential members waiting for some kind of verification. Perhaps someone here who has already joined can shed more light on that.
It's also said to be under-performing, dropping from 1st to 118th on Apple Store download list and tanking in terms of other demographics e.g. page views. It could be that the launch was premature because there are a lot of glitches being reported and that might explain the signup backlog. Only time will tell if it's going to be able to compete with other similar platforms.

I was reading about it being a flop already. What I don't see is any advertising for it. They can't rely on word of mouth alone.

As for Trump's mean tweets, yeah he got permanently banned from Twitter and the likes of them, but his response was to make his own social media app. He's fighting back like a billionaire.

I wonder how long it'll take for this one to go down like his previous attempt. 
It definitely won't get the same traction as Facebook or Twitter, but they've been around much longer so it's understandable. I definitely will not be joining, I'll just stick to Facebook/Twitter, and that's just to keep in touch with family. For everything else I'll just keep sticking to forums because I think most of us here can agree they're the best platform. Though I wouldn't mind hearing about everyone's experiences with the platform.
