Trying to get a new Logo.

You know how facebook has their own logo next to the address bar? Same with forum promotion. I was wondering how you make your own logo. Is it possible to make one using photoshop? And how would I get it directly onto my address bar? Help appreciated thank you.

Hi

It is called a favicon which i just a small image that shows in browsers (that support favicons to show as older browsers won't show them). I am not sure how you can add one on your forum host or even if it is possible to do. If you have ftp access you can just make a small image 16x16 or bigger and upload it to the root directory (public html directory) and call it favicon.ico and it will show. Your host doesn't allow ftp access and you can't manually upload files to the root directory so unless there is an option to add a favicon in your ACP then i don't thin it is possible and you will have to use your hosts favicon.

You know what, most do. I highly recommend asking your provider on how to override this option. I know all the free service forum providers I've used (Invisionfree, Zetaboards, iPBFree, ETC.) are able to.

i ran a very successful site using forumotion and you can dress them up brilliantly and easily with headers and all kinds.
go into administration
choose display
pictures and colours- simple mode
click on forum main logo
you will need to upload the header you want to use to a place like photobucket to get the url to upload it to your site
clear the url thats in your main logo box and add your new logo url (http link ) and hit save.
go to the top of the page to preview ur header on your site.

i made all my own headers in psp so photoshop will work just fine just be sure to save your headers as j.pegs.

i made my headers around the size of 600 x 400 but you can play around and find what looks right for you.

do you mean like adding a button or "favicon" to link to another page or site? if this is what you mean, that can be done also.
id need to go through to remember how coz its been a while but im sure i can work it out.
