Oh god no... I hate people that mimic paid software. I've even seen some people place vBulletin copyrights on MyBB boards. Also, IPB's default theme is just that - a generic default theme. If you are going to go down that route edit the CSS and use the MyIPB's template.

You are also only changing the look into that of another software. It won't function like IPB and will miss the IPB features.

I think mimicking a default theme isn't the best idea, but I don't mind it. As long as people aren't going to the extent that you said, or claiming to be a paid software.

I can see that in some cases, but some people may like the look of a paid forum software and the actual software of a free one.

I use that theme on my forum, not because I want it too look like IPB, but because it looks nice
