Twitters new rule.

Bah! Twitter is now only allowing people to follow 2,000 people. I'm already over that which sucks.

What do you think about them putting limits on different things like this?
 
i don care. whats the point of listening to that many people anyway? i can hardly keep up with the updates of the 13 people i follow
 
Mostly for sites twitters, you follow a ton of people, and you get a ton of followers.
 
I think this is a bad rule, I think you should be able to follow how ever many people you want, not a limit of 2000. Hopefully a group of people form up and tell them to change that rule.

This is because it is causing the servers to get slow and sometimes crash and they are growing extremely fast.

I think its fine. I don't need to follow 2,000 people anyway. :great:

The problem with that is, eventually someone, somewhere will find a script which when run, will make them follow every single twitter user (aka: Tweeter)..whatever lol. Can you imagine the amount of "tweets" that get sent per second, all headed for one destination?

It's a recipe for disaster. Nobody needs to follow 2,000 people. Good call IMO.
 
I struggle following 50 people, how on earth can you follow that many people and keep up?!

You don't lol. It's more for stats than anything else, no different than Forum Post Counts or Rep Points, or even FP$. It's just a contest to see who can get the highest numbers.

Honestly I think it's fine because as Creativebot and Murder outlined, it's killing their server resources.
 
I only follow 5 people..
