Typing Class

Have you ever taken a typing class? I have, and it really made me a fast and great typer. I can actually type now using all my fingers. 😛 If you have taken a class do you remember your words per minute?

I've only taken a typing class once, and it pissedmeoff. I type so fast the way I do, and they typed totally different and made me type 1 wpm. I just decided to screw it and type a different way, schools are like that with typing class, although I make a lot of typos. That is how it is with fast typers, though.

It didn't hurt me, but at that point I already was a fast typer, so I doubt it helped me significantly.

I've never taken a proper typing class. We had a computer class in middle school, but we only did a small unit on typing. I make really stupid mistakes. I don't think I developed fine motor skills. 😉

Yes, I took typing classes in school. I learned the asdf jkl ; typing. It made me type faster without looking at my keyboard then peeking my keys with only a few fingers.

You know? asdf jk; typing? That's a load of bullcrap, you put your fingers on those keys and fire away. It's pretty lame.

I actually look at the keyboard when I type, because it just makes it so much faster and helps prevents typos.

I just type without looking at the keyboard, it saves a lot of time and beats the habit, it's just what better typers do.

I took a keyboarding class in school. I typed around 60 words per minute going into the class. I have never used the proper technique (home row keys and such) yet I still managed to type this fast. I don't look at the keyboard either. Once you get that fast, imagine how hard it would be to try learning to type again using the "proper" technique. I tried, but it was just difficult knowing I could easily go back to 60+ words a minute.

The thing about me is that I type faster when I am thinking of what I am going to say.
