Canonical, the main sponsor Ubuntu Linux, is developing an Android execution environment to allow android apps on Linux desktops. There’s still a lot of work to do to get this running smooth, but they do have a proof of concept functioning, as seen above. This could be very nice for those who have linux netbooks.

Since Linux Mint is based off of Ubuntu, I can't wait to fire up Mint 7 (soon as the 6 update path is released) and get playing with this. Anyone else find this remotely interesting?

Are Android apps like those Widgets you download and use on your desktop, or I-phone apps?

Yes, Im interested. Also Cant wait. Since I just got this comp. Running vista, but I would like to dual boot with a linux. Preferable Xubuntu or Mint.
