UEF Catches First Spammer Bot - 200+ threads

I had a spam bot manage to get pass my captcha code and verification email, and began to attack my forum with spam messages for viagra, cialis and other medications for ED [erectile dysfunction].

User was promptly banned and his 200+ threads taken care of!

You never know, with spiders being able to read captcha and actually reply to verification emails, it could have been a spider or a human.

Either way, I classify them as spam bots. 😛

Thats definitely not good. Too bad there isnt a way to completely stop that from happening period.

Well its not good news, but it was expected by me. The war on spam bots will never be completly won, just full of small wins, like the creation of captcha. Its still best to create a box that appears on your signup page and askes a simple question they cant answer.
