In my case, my son was lost to social services and it is leading to a divorce right now, without something miraculous happening. My wife simply can't get over it and has blamed me for it since it happened, right before we got married.

What do you consider actions that are so terrible that it would be difficult to forgive? Do you feel that any blame put on someone can sometimes be unjustified?

Sorry you're going through such a rough period.

I think there is a huge difference between forgiveness and setting up healthy boundaries. I don't know your situation and you don't have to explain, but there are instances where I wouldn't want to be around a person for my own well-being, even though I could forgive what he did in the past.

I can't imagine how that feels. What I do know is that I would be destroyed if my kids were taken away from me. My kids mean the world to me and it makes me proud that I have been there for my children through the thick and thin of it all.
