As some know (in signature) I have the Avatar Fan Forum. Based on information I've been listening to from Lisa3876 (http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=lisa3876) with your site you should make a unique spin on your site / forum. Does anyone know what I could do to make a unique spin compared to other forums?

Well those forums have huge numbers of posts. One over a million, another just below and the third over 100,000 posts. Yours has 336.
Sorry to be harsh but you're a bit like a burger van trying to complete with mcdonalds - almost impossible
However if you want to try you're going to have to start at the bottom - get some active members. All I know about avatar is that it's some sort of TV show. So i'd suggest to go somewhere more related to the show and advertise there.
Look into avatar websites and ask about affiliating, link exchanges, paid advertising and sponsorship deals.
Also work on your search engine placement as that will help bring members in.
THEN you should start to think about looking at new features for the forum.
The thing is even if your forum is totally unique and amazing members are unlikely to join if their current forum has millions of posts, active members and things to read and post on so you need to make that difference up before you begin to change things.
As for making your forum unique I'm not really sure. Those 3 forums, at a glance, all seem the same to me yet all doing well - so maybe you don't need anything unique?
Ok. I just figure if I had something unique that other forums did not have it might help get in some members because they would come to my forum because of that "new and exciting" feature/function.
Think outside of the box. I see youre running vBulletin software, which is a plus compared to those other sites. Find ways to use vB MODs to help you in anyway possible. Create a weekly podcast, or cartoon of the series, which I think it ended didnt it? If it did then make up stories of what happens after the ending, and get youre members involved in it. Maybe allow some of them todo the art work or something.
I do have an area where my users can share their artwork. (http://avatarff.net/f21). I guess I could make a topic about that and see if users are willing to participate. I know it would be nice for me to submit some artwork but I wouldn't do a very good job. (for example, the characters just wouldn't look "right".)
