I'm wondering this:

Who would be interested in hosting that offered unlimited everything for only $4.95 per month with an average page speed of 0.6 seconds? Is that a good deal? Would you pay?

I don't think much people will pay, considering a lot of hosts emerging these days.
Try having things from basic plan from $1/m to that unlimited plan for $4.95/m as you said. Also, you should keep up your webhost for more than 1 year even if you don't get much sales (or even no sales). Because people have to trust your host first, and it will definitely take some time.

Give our frequent offers and deals. Do, competitions, like every year or so, a basic plan holder will be upgraded to unlimited hosting without any extra payment.

Thanks for the tips. And yes, we already have a $1 package. 😉

Unlimited doesn't exist. I get my free hosting for working at a Web Hosting company that has been in the industry for 6-7 years now.

I wouldn't pay that a month.

It's not unlimited, it is Unmetered.

It sounds decent, and sounds as a good deal, but for some users, as me i.e., the price it's the second most important part. The first one, just as Kavin mentioned, it's the trust, and if you're just starting you should try to work that.

Yeah! There are a lot of people giving cheap hosting. But at the same time, you can see some hosts selling hosting packages double that of cheaper ones.
People will still go for such hosting, if they find it reliable.

The hosting he is talking about is very reliable and is not from a brand new hosting service.

I would pay that Terry, as long as the host is reliable and been around for a while.

In short, no. For most forums, you would only need 512MB space at best until your forum gets big and attachments are out-of-hand, maybe. Most of the time, you'll find that many of these hosts literally load up several hundred users on one server (or I don't think it would be viable to offer "unlimited" hosting), so I would look for something that doesn't sound as "too-good-to-be-true."

Not unless I needed it, which I probably wouldn't. As said above, the majority of websites use less than 5 gb of bandwidth and 1 gb of diskspace.... 🙂

I would love to see facts on that statement. Also as stated above there is no such thing as unlimited.. And unmetered, I wouldn't even mess with as well.

He was sort of saying what I said previously. Most forums don't really need that much space unless you use attachments, so the whole notion of "unlimited hosting" is sort of useless.

I pay $8 a month for my Hostgator service and it's 100% worth it. They offer unlimited bandwidth/space and have fantastic speeds.

I don't know, Why many people hate new hosting websites. They are also reliable, and may have a good support too. Yeah, its true, I heard many of them closes down after some time, but that is because they can't handle a reseller or server on their own fundings forever without getting a single customer.
