Typically for businesses I'd say more towards the 1x a day mark, but for forums and communities I've typically just done a few posts a week on social media.
I definitely agree you can overkill it by posting too much daily.
I do not think so. It's important to keep your people engaged and aware of what's going on in your life, but I don't think you should post too much on social media. You want people to know that you are alive and well, but you also want them to know that they feel they are making the most of their relationship with you. In other words, you don't want them to feel like they're drowning in a sea of unnecessary updates, but rather for them to feel like they're taking full advantage.
Yes I do. For example on Facebook when groups that I’m part of and people that I’m friends with constantly update I end up, unfollowing them. I get so annoyed but yet there’s people that don’t mind. I would think it might have something to do with the age group. Maybe people my age get a lot more annoyed at that and the younger crowd might be ok with it.
Some people will tell you that you can over do it and do too much and that can in some cases be true. I always find posting once maybe twice a day if you feel the need to and doing that daily each week helps. It allows your posts to get seen and to also get interaction as well 🙂
I think you can over do it at times, but it depends on the niche of your community. If it's a webmaster forum, you can share multiple posts on social media sharing tips and tricks on how others can promote their sites, etc. If it's a gaming community, sharing articles or reviews on games multiple times a week can really get your community out there. I say posting about 3 or 4 times a week on your page is fine, but anything more than that might be too much.
