Upgrading Software Versions

When your forum software has a new version out, do you immediately upgrade or wait?

If the update is a subset i.e 1.8.5 to 1.8.6 then I am usually pretty quick to update. If it is a totally different version with substantial changes then I'll wait awhile for bugs to be fixed, some new plugins to be created or updated if applicable, and just to play around with the software on a test board before updating my own forum.

I tend to wait a week or two just to make sure that there isn't any huge security issues or excess code that was added by mistake to the newer version. This would apply to smaller updates 1.8.1 -> 1.8.2

For bigger releases I tend to wait much much longer. This is due to the fact of plugins that might not be fully compatibly, a new theme system in most cases which would require me to edit my current theme and adjust it all, and also a massive change can annoy members who may have liked the previous layout of things.

Most often I upgrade as soon as I find the time to. XD
