I had created a forum about a yearago, called Sci-Fi Online with Phpbb and a free host that I had managed to turn out well. Very unfortuantely one day it seems that the Host shut down...and I therefore lost everything :/ (All data hadn't been saved on my Computer also... :shake: )
Anyway, that was just the intro and I've decided today to start again. I've now set up on GoDaddy...but have been facing quite alot of issues. I'm alright with PhpBB, ok with FTP and completly crap with Hosts (if you may excuse me for my language).
Last night, I downloaded the latest version of PhpBB (3.0.10)..and then uploaded it onto Server with FTP...i then tried to install, but cache.php and etc were unwritable (tried making therm writable in FTP but wouldn't take command 777)...and tried to find out where the problem was. In addition to that Godaddy FTP manager would not load directory (I tried emptying Cache browser, no work). I'm using Filezilla at the moment to replace Godaddy FTP, it's faster anyway.
I've tried deleting all files reuploading again and again...and I'm just stuck. Server is empty now.
Anybody willing to help me just set it up (i'll provide you with FTP Ip host and etc), and get me just to the bit where files are "Writable" again?
