...are just a minority examples of times where block caps just shouldn't be used, and it's almost getting frustrating to see. Honestly, what caused the average age of the internet to come crashing down? When will people realise that bold, italics, underline and speech marks are made for formatting?

ZOMG I HATE WHEN PEOPLE DO THIS. ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY WRITE LARGE UNFORMATTED PARAGRAPHS WITHOUT KNOWING HOW TO USE THE FUCKING RETURN KEY ONCE IN A WHILE. IT REALLY GETS ON MY NERVES. AND MOST OF THE TIME IT IS JUST THOSE 12 YEAR OLD LOSERS THAT GO AROUND ON FORUMS MAKING POINTLESS TOPICS AND MOSTLY ONE-LINER RESPONSES. ALTHOUGH IF THEY REALLY WANT TO PISS ME OFF, THEY WRITE THE LONG UNFORMATTED PARAGRAPHS IN ALL CAPS. NOT TO MENTION THEIR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR IS IN THE SHITTER AS WELL. HOW HARD IS IT TO USE A FUCKING SPELL CHECK? FIREFOX HAS ONE IN THE BROWSER BY DEFAULT, AND MOST OTHER BROWSERS HAVE ONE IN AS AN ADDON. OR YOU COULD JUST DO THE EASY THING BY LEARNING HOW TO SPELL IN THE FIRST PLACE! C'MON IT REALLY ISN'T THAT HARD, AND IF IT IS HARD, JUST READ MORE. EVENTUALLY YOU'LL GET USED TO SEEING WORDS SPELLED RIGHT FOR A CHANGE INSTEAD OF "LOL", "ROFL" AND "ZOMG I LUV THAT MOVIZ. IT IZ TEH BOMB". REALLY THE ONE REASON THAT MAKES ME WANT TO LEAVE A FORUM. ESPECIALLY IF THE ADMIN DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO USE GRAMMAR. IF YOU CAN'T LEARN GRAMMAR OR HOW TO SPELL OR HOW TO TURN OF THE DAMN CAPS LOCK KEY, YOU DON'T DESERVE MY TIME AT YOUR SITE! IF YOU OCASSIONALY MISSPELL A WORD HERE AND THERE, NOBODY'S GONNA GO ALL GRAMMAR NAZI ON YOU, BUT IF IT BECOMES A HABIT IT JUST GETS ANNOYING AND WILL DETER MEMBERS FROM YOUR FORUM. NOT TO MENTION TERRIBLE LAYOUTS AND THEMES. HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU GO TO A FORUM THAT IS IN THE PROMOTION SECTION OF THIS FORUM AND SEE A CRAPPY BANNER, THE DEFAULT THEME, AND THE ADMIN THINKS IT'S THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD. AND THEN THEY WONDER WHY THEY GET NOBODY TO JOIN. LOOK AT THE WAY THE FORUM LOOKS FROM AN OUTSIDER. DOES THIS PLACE LOOK LIKE IT WILL LAST MORE THAN A MONTH? IF YOU GOT TO THIS SPOT, YOU ARE A TROOPER. GOOD JOB. DID THE ADMIN PUT TIME INTO ENSURING THE THEME AND LAYOUT LOOK PROFESSIONAL? ARE WE USING A DEFAULT THEME? NOT TO GO ALL AGAINST DEFAULT THEMES, BUT MOST ARE CRAP. VB4'S NEW THEME DOESN'T LOOK ALL BAD (THE PURPLE IN THE OLD ONE MAKES ME WANT TO PUKE), AND THE NEW THEME (CURVE) IN SMF2 LOOKS NICE AS WELL, ALONG WITH AEF'S DEFAULT THEME, WHICH I WOULD RANK AS THE BEST DEFAULT THEME I HAVE SEEN-EVER. BUT THE DEFAULT PHPBB2 THEME, THE DEFAULT SMF THEME AND THE DEFAULT VB THEME ARE ALL TERRIBLE. IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO ADD A THEME JUST GOOGLE IT. THERE ARE TONS OF FREE THEMES THAT ANYBODY CAN DOWNLOAD, AND THEY DON'T TAKE TOO MUCH TIME TO INSTALL, DEPENDING ON THE SOFTWARE.

Just wondering, how long did it take you to come up with that? Honestly, such a drastic change from normal would surely take a few minutes at the very least to type? I would have done something like that but I was watching a ghost show on tv :S

Anyway, yeah "LMAO" is rather annoying but hey, whatever, it's life. My teachers annoy me as well, and I can't punch them in the face (well, Mrs. King doesn't count...) 🙂

Basically, yes these types of users are annoying and can really tick you off, but deal with it like the rest of us.
 
I spent about 10 minutes or so. You have no idea how many emails I get from 419 scammers that are just like that but about 5x longer.
The hardest part was not hitting shift at the start of each sentence.

I only use "LOL" when something is funnier then a "lol" 🙂.
 
I is very annoying, agreed. But then on the other hand you have some kids that come on forums and type sophisticated words to try and act like they are older. Ah, the world of the Internet, makes you laugh sometimes.
 
I speak good english. But when I get in a bad mood, I start using Caps to represent my angriness.
 
I personally can't stand it. That's why i tend not to add a ton of people to MSN, you get people who have to shorten every word in the dictionary, and have those annoying little emotions for so many words. Ugh.

Totally agreed, it's annoying when they try to speak to you and all their words are covered by these stupid, big ass emotions :angry:

I don't have a rule against using all caps on my forum, but I don't like it either. I just try to put up with it, basically. I myself try to use proper grammar, etc, no matter what kind of forum I'm posting on.
 
Please use proper English at all times when posting. This includes proper capitalisation and punctuation. If English is not your native language, please inform us and we will exercise lenience when enforcing this rule.

One of the first clauses under the posting rules in my forum... I don't mind lol, rofl, lmao, roflmao and roflcopter, IMO and the like that much, as long as it isn't overused. Say:

''Lol,yeah, District 9 is an amazing movie! The acting was amazing and incredibly realistic. Peter Jackson is a amazing director. It really made me think about racial segregation in a different light. IMO everyone should see it!''

But when they start psting liek dis, i get rlly anoyd. It destroys my brain cells reading it.

I think that that comes from people playing too many text baser RPGs in which they need to go in and out of character a lot. I'm not sure though.
 
The CAPS WORDS are mostly used when you want to show angryness, It shows that you are telling that thing in an Ordering way or Shouting way.
