Using Adderall to study

Its the brand name of an ADHD drug, but it can be used for cramming and pulling all nighters, its popular among college students in the US. It's an amphetamine so there's some room for addiction and some view it as cheating since it can be considered an unfair advantage over those who don't take it.

I have and will never abuse prescription drugs, mainly because I have a moral issue with that, but it could get me in trouble if I pursue a certain job later on in life.
That said, that sh*t's CRAZY. I know a kid that popped a few before the SATs, keep in mind this kid is as dumb as a box of rocks, and he did almost as well as I did (I think I got like a 1300 combined, 1800 overall, though he didn't come close to my near perfect math grade 😛 ). If you have ADHD, don't like taking your meds, and go to college you can make an ***load of money. Especially right now during finals.

Coffee doesn't come even close to what this stuff does. I've never taken it, but have had family members take it for ADHD and friends take it for test. Both say the same thing (for those it has effects on, curing the symptoms of ADHD is sometimes an endless game of "Which drug do we think might cure the symptoms?") that it allows you to focus insanely well. If you were to wait a couple years I could give you the medicinal chemistry behind it, or you can take my word (and sh*tty diagram) for it.Flux said:

Add in all the H's and the little black magic thing going on, you can really stay awake! Now don't forget all those C's that help you concentrate, and BAM you have adderall!
Also, it isn't dangerous in the sense that you don't know what's in it, as it is FDA approved. The worst thing I see from it on the wikipedia page is dependency and some (potentially bogus) claim from Canada about sudden death.
Seems that taking an amount good for studying won't do any harm really, I've heard of people take it just because they like tweaking but it seems like a great way to get through exams. SWIM is thinking about buying some soon and trying it out to improve their grades, hopefully it works well.Watch Me Sink said:

It is probably not a good idea since you don't know the quality of the drugs like getting drugs from a doctor or pharmacist where the drug is hand pick/made to work best for your condition and body type. Plus, the dealer you are buying the drugs from might mix speed/meth into your capsules to get you addicted...
I'm not sure if drugs will help with test for computer programming, database, math, physics, and the hard sciences tests where you have to create or prove something works rather then remember a few answers or definitions to a question in a multiple choice exam, or label diagrams of plants.

I don't see a reason for a dealer to mix speed or meth into the legal form of speed that is cheaper than street drugs, seems rather pointless to me. idk seems that most 'dealers' are just kids who have a prescription so that doesn't seem to be an issue. Amphetamines and similar meds are the most prescribed drugs ever, when every other 6 year old takes a low dose of speed a day there's definitely a lot going around for the one who doesn'tfroggyboy604 said:

And it's pretty hard to tamper with a tablet unless you really know how to do it. Only XR pills are capsules. Chances are the person you're buying from isn't a high level drug dealer, rather somebody with ADHD that wants to make some money.
Yeah, pills are definitely more sure than street drugs as its easier to check them, unlike something like MDMA that you need a kit to test to be safe.
From what I've heard Ritalin which is also used to treat ADHD works well too, Methylphenidate isn't an amphetamine but its also a stimulant and is closer in nature to cocaine, but its less addictive and apparently has a lesser come down than other stims.
