When I started joining forums back in 2015, I was using my first name. Between, 2016 and 2018, I was posting on over two dozen forums regularly and I was using my first name on all of these forums. Even on Forum Promotion, I was using my real name. However, I have now stopped doing that because of some harassment that I had to go through.

I use my last name everywhere (except here because I can't change it), and my first name is never hidden elsewhere. My philosophy is if you want to find and kill me and will go through the trouble, hats off to you.
I was on bored panda w my real name, joined with Facebook, but some ppl were so nasty, so I changed it. Not that they could find me or would do anything. On a Dutch small forum I used to throw way too personal info and had ppl warn me to remove it.

I typically use my nickname on most forums, though I've used my real name from time to time.
And here I had thought Wessel was your name.😱
I still have my real name and photo on a lot of forums. I am fine using my real identity on social media but not on forums.
I never use my real name as my username on forums. A few people here know my real name, which is fine since I trust those people. 😛 I think it's much cooler to use a username rather than my real name. (Even though I love my name. 
)
