Spammy incoming links can be a problem, often gotten as the result of spammers manipulating your site. Anyway, though, it's not the end of the world - as you can simply disavow toxic links to your site - and for free (Bing and Google Webmaster Tools)! However, though, finding what links are bad can be tough and might cost you. For instance, Ahrefs, maybe Majestic, can spot them out, but they demand paid subscription or trial.

it's tough to find those links unless you're paying, though. Myself, I would advise a 7 day subscription (I think it's for 7 dollars) to Ahrefs. However, though, SEM Rush is free for one site and might be just as good.

Google Disavow and Bing disavow tools are useful in removing spammy links pointing to my site. I used ahrefs 7 day trial for $7 and it really help in recovering rank of my website.
