They are the best host I've ever used. They come packed with a ton of features great security controls and they are getting better and better.
The support community is both courteous and fast.
You can also create subforums within subforums within subforums. It is not an ability many hosts have, but it is quite useful. You can go 5 levels deep while others will only allow 1.
Here is the setup for one of my areas..
The Twilight Cafe (board index) → The Chillout Zone (category) → The L Word (section) → Name (sub forum) → Name (sub forum 2) → Name (sub forum 3)
(they are not actually titled "Name" I changed the name as these are private areas..)
You also have the ability to back up your forum, and take your db should you decide to move on to another host, and should something happen to your board, all you have to do is email the host owner with a copy of your db, admin username and the email address you signed up with and your board will be restored.
I left IF for this host a little over 2 years ago and my members, staff and I couldn't be happier.

If you take a look at our board-wide user guidelines, you'll notice that you must wait 48 hours before bumping a thread of yours.

I disagree, but I suppose you could try Hyperboards (are they still around?) or PB and ZB then..
If not there is always excoboard, but I haven't used that in years and so I haven't much other than that..

Anyways, there is a reason the "usual junk" are so popular, they are the best. I'd avoid the lesser known unpopular softwares. Unless you want a lesser known unpopular forum.
