Utah Outlaws Miscarriages

As a response to a single incident in which a woman allegedly paid a man to beat her and induce a miscarriage.

In that case, I agree, it should be outlawed, and the girl/women should be punished.

This is the stupidest law I have ever seen. How stupid do you have to be to pass this?

There is no way to enforce this, and it is demeaning and threatening to women in general.

miscarriages that result from an "intentional, knowing, or reckless act" would be treated as illegal abortions, punishable by life in prison.

The law only covers intentional miscarriages, not miscarriages due to natural causes.

It is not possible to enforce that. There will be tons of cases where intentional will be seen as unintentional and vice versa.

It would be possible, but not easy. If a woman has bruising on her stomach, that would be a strong indicator it was intentional.

I was expecting this to be in Texas, since Texas is the #1 state for retarded laws just like this.
