Do you offer a V. I. P. or Premium membership on your forum for people that donate to your forum? If so, what kind of benefits does a person get for being a V. I. P. or Premium member?

We have a "Regular" usergroup with elevated permissions, which requires community nomination to get into, based on the quality of activity and how long they've been active.

You can donate at least $20 to get the same permissions, aside from the rank and their private section. Buying into the permissions that way is permanent, unlike being a Regular, and it also comes with a badge of recognition.

No, sadly. I have a horrible time trying to come up with valuable things to give to them, since I give my members what most people give their premium members. 😛

Maybe you can offer your V.I.P. or Premium members bigger signature space than regular members or the opportunity to advertise their site on the forum somewhere. Just a couple of suggestions.....

I give regular users what you would call V.I.P or Premium. There is no need for any special ranks like that at the moment, might add something like that soon to help with funds because I am going to be doing a contest on my forum next month.

I plan to do something like this in future, but I don't have enough activity to justify it just yet.

I think VIP and Premium accounts are an amazing idea. But I think you need to have a big significant amount of users on your forum before you actually offer such perks like this.

Definitely agree that you need a significant level of activity from a large number of active accounts before considering this. Simply because you'll want to have at least a handful of your registered user base upgrading to a premium membership to make it worthwhile. Also, the pricing has to be just right. Don't break the bank.

My forum has premium membership called "Groovy Membership" but instead of donating cash, we use the in-house currency.

Yes, I offer premium membership called Forum Sponsor on my forum. 😛

With what I have been planning, those who purchase a premium or vip account upgrade, gets adfree added to their account, so that their experience isn't hindered by any ads that might be on the forum. Though, I haven't decided how much they would pay, if it would include removing service ads that are shown too.

It was VIP on most of the forums I modded on, and the one I owned.
