And for anyone that wants a more in-depth description, you can just click on the spoiler.

I hope my little additions aren't wrong on my end.

Valucre is a free-form, "open-source" forum roleplay website. The website can be separated into two large sections. The canon and the non-canon. In the canon world, there are three continents on which the player can begin his adventure. Under the king Odin Haze, Terrenus is the largest and most populated continent in the canon world. The other two continents are Genesaris and Tellus Mater. Genesaris houses its namesake, Genesaris and Altus Arcantium. Tellus Mater is home to three nations: Renovatio, Rosinder, and Muhir. Renovatio and Rosinder are currently engaged in open warfare.

Valucre is open-source in that there are no limitations in who can add into the canon and to what level of impact. As long as storylines are sensible, there is no cap as to how they can grow or in what direction. One could draft up an orphan, take him through the military and wind up controlling a battalion. That same orphan could become a noble with a considerable estate or the mayor of a town. That same orphan could take to the alleys and wind up with a gang strong enough to take over the town by force.

And it doesn't have to start at the beginning. Players can play at their own speed, for example, that same gang could be started in media res. The high level of freedom involved in roleplay on Valucre also makes it very interactive. Other plays may thwart the gang's attempt to take over a town, or the takeover could have repercussions later on.

The thing about Valucre that separates it from other websites, whether for the better or for the worse aside from their open-source policy, is that it has no firm, central storyline. That is, there's no grand storyline that we can dictate as being the "history" of Valucre. There are dozens upon dozens upon dozens of storylines, each one as important as the last.

Through these storylines, whole nations have been created and destroyed (one of them ascending into the clouds, one sinking into the ocean, and one swept away from the bottom of the sea itself), the sun has been blotted out, unspeakable religious crusades carried out in the name of a greater good, cities burned to the ground, necropolis' found and so much more.

The non-canon section is open for any users to create worlds as they please. The non-canon has hosted such roleplays as: Super-hero (like Heroes, Marvel, X-men ((like, but not carbon-copies)), Steampunk, Sci-fi, Zombie Survival, and much, much more.

Valucre welcomes constructive criticism because if there's one thing we're always looking to do, it's improve. And since there will always be room for improvement, we plan to shoot for the stars.

Valucre's staff is very helpful. They are extremely sensitive to the needs of the forum and the wants of its members, are courteous in their interactions, and expedient in delivery. The community itself is also great. Everyone's always more than willing to lend a helping hand in guiding new members along, in helping to create storylines or to contribute to storylines and plots already established.

For the fighters out there, Valucre also has very large tournaments (combatants usually 20+) with the option to partake in ranked battles where your wins will count toward a ladder ranking that uses ELO scores (wins/losses). Its dedicated coliseum houses a number of very skilled fighters, sure to challenge any aficionado. This database is ever-growing.
