Any ever used a Vanilla Forums before? I think Vanilla Forums is probably the most free professional forum software. I starting learn more about it.

I must say, I hate it. It looks like junk to me. If that's what the most free professional forum software is, I'd rather use the least free professional forum software. 😛

What does "the most free professional software" even mean? If its free, its free. Nothing can be the "most free"

I don't know? 😛
I was just going by what the opening post in this topic said.
According to Reach, it's the most professional free forum software.

I tried it once from a members' perspective a while back. Not a huge fan of it at all. Hardly organized and way too basic for my liking. Heck, as simple as it is, even a five year old can run a site on a software like that!

Pretty cool, if you ask me. I really appreciate that they're using a lot of modern web technologies (ie. jQuery), social media integration, SEO-friendliness, very clean layout, and they're finally using technology to render BBCode irrelevant (vBulletin started it with its WYSIWYG editor in 3.8, XenForo has passed it on, IPB is getting CKEditor in 2.0), all of which I can't really see someone like phpBB moving forward. They're adding, what? A plugins system in 3.1?

Better late than never, I suppose.

Depends what you're looking for - if you want something incredibly simple it's fine.

Yeah, that's true. I guess we all like things to be easy at times. If I wanted something easy to work with though, I'd go for something like MyBB, as that's just as easy to work with, and at least MyBB looks a lot nicer and more organized.
