Well i was offered a technology forum that was hosted with Vbulletin.
I took the offer and as stupid as i am i never asked for the link to the forum until the guy handed over the forum details.
I looked around the forum and i saw Hacking Scripts, Wireless hacking and programming.

I took the forum as i knew i could change that because i know donkeys about hacking and what not.
But now i think i just got scammed as i had a good social network account hanging around and i sold him that.

Here is where it gets serious i think i just got phised.
I can't access the ACP with the password i changed it just comes up you have failed the login attempts blah de blah de blah. It says access it in the next 15 minutes and i did and it still comes up i cannot log in. Tried the Mod still no access.
Theres one problem now heres the other, every time i click on a link on th forum loads of ads pop up and i have deleted more than 40 in the space of ten minutes. Any idea how to remove them.

Thanks for your time.

I'm afraid you should always buy licenses from the official website of the software or from someone you know is a trusted seller. Your forum is not supported officially, so Jelsoft support wont be able to aid you unless you have the license account details? Can you not contact the guy? Have you got the CPanel access?

As for the adds your going to need to get in to the ACP and im assuming that they are all scripts in the template file. Did the person at least give you the VB customer number? If he didnt then you have no proof that its even a legit version of VB

If you got the account with the license from vbulletin.com then you you have the hosting, or your hosting. you can start out by asking for help at vbulletin.org or .com, just say u cant login or what ever but dont mention you bought it off someone. You can try this aswell, create a new database and create the forum there and create a fresh install of VB.
