It's dead on MyBB, which I think is the worst looking mainstream forum software... oh well, simply another reason for me not to use vB ~lol~
Hopefully they can get some talented designers in there early on so people don't have to use that for any longer than it takes to install another skin over top >.>
This style doesn't look good. Everything is in a place I wouldn't want it in. A major letdown as the vB 3.x default looked much better. Hopefully people can skin this to look a lot better.
Meh, looks ok but doesn't look that good, most people wouldn't use the default forum style anyway IMO. Most default styles aren't that great themselves, so this is ok but not terrible.
It doesn't look good in my opinion... Alot of people do use the default forum styles though. I quite often see alot of forum using the softwares default style.
hmm, I think they've got the "idea" right, but the problem is they've got it "too" right. By the looks of things they're going for the HCI Fitts law approach, by increasing the surface area of buttons and links to make them quick and easy to click. However the style does look very inflated and looks very much like it has been designed for people with poor eye sight.
As far as default styles go though I think it has potential. Perhaps if they streamlined it and made everything a normal size it would go a long way. Having said that, I'd imagine the percentage of those who actually use the default style as their main front is fairly small - which makes me think...it will be interesting to see styles based from this new skin.
I looks kinda like SMF default style. but its better then the old one i guess. Personaly i have always though VB have had the best software, but the ugliest styles and imagesets. soon to chnage i guess. Cant wait!!
I don't hate the software as much as some of it's hot headed and self absorbed users who just can't accept that other forum software could be remotely better than vBulletin. The theme is ugly, they have gone from web 0.5 look to a web 0.inflatable look. I wander if there is an option in the ACP for raising the inflation of the buttons and category headers etc. -lol-
There will be some sexy themes made for it though, just as IPB. This is going to be one close call, will be exciting to see which software hits the correct buttons for customers.
