vBulletin 4 Gold

It's totally overpriced. I mean, I know it's a great software, but I can get similar quality from IPB3 for forty dollars less.

In short, no way in hell am I getting vB4.

You think its cheaper but you have to pay $25 every six months for updates/support.
vB doesnt come with any extra bills to pay. You get all the updates/support for free for the life of the vb4 series.

Stop complaining about the price! Talk about the software not your inability to get your brain wrapped around the fact it costs a little.

It seems really cool, I like how they incorperated gold with it.

There is a greater flexibility involved. I can pay for upgrades when I need them. I may take a calculated risk from time to time and dodge a security security patch, but then pay for one or two minor releases.

This way is ideal for me because I'm a poor student, I can't cough up 195$ right away. The IPB method spreads the financial strain over six months or so.

Yeah its really cool.. I have the vb4 publishing suite (bought it with my Christmas money as a present to myself & the community). Going to have blogs for my members and probably figure out something to do with the CMS (content management system). 😀
Just waiting for a couple mods and skins to be updated before I do the upgrade to the live board. Have been playing around with my test board a lot though.

Dude that sounds awesome! I can't wait to see the outcome! I'm glad you got to get it 🙂

I upgraded my license when they had their offer, but i don't plan on upgrading for a while yet, probably another few months from now.

I'll be waiting to make sure all the mods i use have been updated, and i'll have to find someone who can update my theme for me too.

vB4 looks great, but i don't think an upgrade is essential - it doesn't offer a lot more to me personally than vB3 does currently.

It looks great, your forum is the first customised forum I've seen running VB4 and I look forward to seeing how you use the blogs and CMS. Good luck with it.
