I know vBulletin is typically looked at as the laughing stock of the paid forum software world these days, given how poorly Internet Brands has ran it the last 10-15 years. Still, it looks like they've taken some steps in the right direction, releasing vBulletin 6 just a few months ago, and also introducing vBulletin Cloud.

You can read about vBulletin Cloud here: https://www.vbulletin.com/en/vbulletin-cloud

The first thing you'll see is that it's set at a very reasonable price point. If you pay for the lowest package annually, it comes out to $14.99/mo.

What are you thoughts on vBulletin Cloud?

I think the Cloud version is the best option for anyone who really wants to start a new forum on vBulletin 6. If you don't like the software or your forum fails to take off you're not going to be left with an unsellable licence or unwanted hosting plan.

If do think it's worth noting that the differences between vB5 and vB6 are pretty insignificant i.e. I had no idea the support site had been updated for weeks. The software also has a pretty high bug count and the mobile apps, one of the few things that made it desirable have been dropped.
