Okay, so right now I'm having a hard time choosing between the two. I have used both and I do currently own both of them, however this decision isn't about which one to buy, but which one to use on my upcoming website.

Here's a quick run down of the site that will use it.

-The site will be about designing, coding, administrating, and online marketing. Basically "another" admin forum, I suppose (although the forum is half the site).
-The site will be as simplistic as possible, yet nice-looking.
-Wordpress will be the other half of the site, and I will be somewhat integrating the two together, in terms of user-integration. Does IPB or vBulletin currently have anything like this?

Some things I've noticed:

1) I've noticed that most big, successful forums and websites use vBulletin. What are your thoughts on this? Coincidence, or does this mean that vBulletin is just that much more superior.

2) I will use the latest version of each software, so that means using vB4, which many people seem to think is a major downgrade from the 3.0 series. What is your opinion on this?

Overall, would IPB or vBulletin be most suitable for the site I'm going for? Get at me.

I personally like joining IPB 3 forums than vBulletin 4 forums.

Go for the one you like more, not what others say on here, chances are they won't join anyway.

What would you feel most comfortable using?

I'm comfortable with both of them, though I suppose I have been with IPB for slightly longer.

For its support alone, go with IPB. vBulletin without Kier Darby (their former project lead) is like the Dallas Cowboys defense without DeMarcus Ware or Manchester United without Wayne Rooney and Nani. vBulletin can never recover, and when Kier launches his own software, it will strike the dagger on vBulletin like how Matt Mecham did the same on Ikonboard when IPB 1.0 came out.

I would go with Antarctic's suggestion and choose the software you more comfortable with.

Like Antarctic and Coppa said, choose the one you are more comfortable with and have more experience with.
