vBulletin.org, the official vBulletin modification site was retired and taken offline. It therefore came as some surprise to find it back online and running on a Russian domain. Even more of a surprise is the fact that I can log in using my original vB.org login. The only possible explanation is someone has obtained not only the vb.org database but also the entire software installation because the site runs on a heavily modified version of vBulletin 3 that was never released to the public.
It's probably of no real consequence even if you were a registered member unless of course you used the same login details for other more commercial sites. I think however it's worth a warning because vBulletin have a long history of playing fast an loose with their customer data e.g.
www.theregister.com
I'm not inclined to link the site because there maybe be consequences if anyone is tempted to log in but I would urge anyone who was a member to give a little thought to whether or not you registered there using a unique login.
