vBulletin What's Going On?

MyBB is the Justin Bieber of bulletin boards. I don't think I need to say anymore.

Could I at least ask your reasonings? It isn't really fair that you could just go "I wouldn't use this" if you can't even back up what you're saying because phpBB is the only forum software you've used.

Clearly there must be a reason on phpBB's side that makes people want to choose MyBB.

Just because I don't like it doesn't mean everyone else doesn't. I don't like the features it has to offer. I don't like how it is set up as far as the admin panel goes. I think there are other softwares that offer more.

I never said you had to like MyBB. I said what, specifically, are the features you're lacking that phpBB has or their problems with their admin panel. What makes phpBB's or vBulletin's panel (in your opinion) better than MyBB's and why?

I'm not going to sit here and list every feature I prefer in phpbb.

The administration panel in phpbb is a lot easier to use and offers more customization in my opinion.

But going back on topic, I suppose at least the folks there at least mentioned why it went down after a few hours after some member was asking why.

Sorry for going off topic, I agree 100% with el canadiano, because apparently you dont know whats different in the MyBB Acp... easy to install mods, easy settings, better look and feel, more features overall just as good as vB and ipb but just free, and more secure than phpBB and vB, and unlike phpBB, it isnt a big stress on the server. etc I I've used phpBB, IPB, vB, MyBB, smf, etc. Out of the them IPB sticks out as the best paid one, and my sticks out as the best free one.

That's your opinion. What's easy and innovative to me is different than you.

I'm not sure how it is more fulfilling to spend 2 hours installing a gallery mod in phpBB, if I can do it in less than a minute in MyBB. Or perhaps that is just my opinion and should therefore be disregarded offhand?

Once you get used to installing phpBB Modifications, you can install MODs like the Gallery MOD in less than 10 minutes.

But it's just upload and one click, mind you. You'll likely spend more time actually uploading a few files on MyBB than to actually make the click that installs the whole thing. But hey, phpBB's finally moving to a plugin system in 3.1. MyBB's had it for five years, IPB has moved into one by default in 3.0, and vBulletin has had it for a while now as well (SMF's is more like AutoMOD than a plugin system). Don't get me wrong, phpBB isn't bad, but it's taken them forever to add things that make sense for any forum owner (look at Quick Reply as the prime example).

Don't get me wrong, there are actually two plugins on MyBB (from my knowledge) that actually require file edits, being Google SEO and pre-parse post. Google SEO is mostly covered cause they have the edited file done for you, and pre-parse post is just one edit, I suppose.
