That stinks. Are you able to return it at all?

Yeah, I can return it on Amazon, and I will 😀

Good luck finding a new one 🙂 I always like going to my BestBuy here in town and just looking for things like this.

I wouldn't even recommend a GT 420. The newest and best video card right now is the GTX 980 by Nvidia. I recommend getting a GTX 970 if you don't have a lot of money.

GTX 970 can range around $350. While the GTX 980 can range between $500-$900. Depending on who you go with. EVGA sells them higher than most. MSI sells 980s for $500-$600 price range.

What is your computer build by the way? Motherboard, CPU, etc?

Edit:

I do recommend using https://pcpartpicker.com/

It is a great site I found out from a friend a long time ago. Good place to check on what is compatible with eachother.

That stinks that your computer does not support your new video card.

What type of computer brand or motherboard do you have?

I think some older motherboards have problems recognizing newer video cards.

There are also very old motherboard which only can use AGP, and PCI slots for installing video cards, so newer PCI-X and PCI-Express cards don't work on those types of older motherboards.

Yeah... I'm still looking for a video card. Looking for a GTX 295 right now.
I have an ASRock 890Fx deluxe 3 motherboard.

Maybe an Asus branded PCI-Express video card would work on your ASRock motherboard since ASRock was originally created by Asus according to a few computer websites I read.

Asus also makes some pretty nice motherboards, and video cards in my experience.
