Ubuntu 12.04 LTS is pretty nice after trying it for a day after released which was yesterday. I like that the new sidebar is pinned on the left by default, or you can auto hide it. I can also adjust the size of the icons and the width of the sidebar easily in 12.04.

It also starts up pretty fast on my older computer. Installing programs with the Ubuntu Software Center is pretty easy, and a lot of the programs I use like Google Chrome, VLC, SM Player, LibreOffice, and Gimp photo editor is compatible with Ubuntu 12.04.

Searching for Ubuntu Linux from the Search box on the top left is also pretty cool.

The new login page for Ubuntu also looks pretty nice.

It also only took about an hour to install Ubuntu 12.04. and updating it was pretty easy.

I usually use the LXDE lightweight theme in Ubuntu 12.04 which is also found on Lubuntu and other Linux OSes which makes Ubuntu feels even faster because of the low RAM and CPU of the LXDE theme, and it has the taskbar on the bottom like Gnome, and Windows.

When I'm searching for files, folders, installed programs, or changing settings, doing file management, updating Ubuntu I use the Unity theme since it seems simpler for basic and maintenance tasks.

LXDE isn't a theme, it is a Desktop Environment like Gnome,KDE, etc..

As for my thoughts on Ubuntu they are still the same. My main problem with this release.. my wireless does not work by default. Of course it isn't working on any distro I have tried by default recently.

I like this Ubuntu version. Yes, Ubuntu is not my cup of tea, i prefer other distro's, but I do like it.

What other Linux Distros do you like?

I also tried Linux Mint, and Puppy Linux, and like those Linux Distros as well.

But, I mostly use Ubuntu because it seems easiest to find free technical support for it by searching Google, Ubuntu Support forum, or YouTube tutorial videos about Ubuntu help.

When I upgraded to 12.04, I had to switch to Emesene, because aMSN was removed from the packages.

I use Puppy Linux on my slower computers, and I like Core Linux because of how customisable it is.

 Yeah, I noticed. X)

Trying to figure out where to store my files so I can retrieve them after I switch to Fedora.

I been using Ubuntu 12.04 since release, and did not experience any major problems while using it on my older desktop computer from 2007.

I think Linux Mint, OpenSuse, etc might be better then Fedora based on reviews I saw on Fedora on YouTube.

I watch a video where a guy complain about Fedora being worse then all versions of Ubuntu because the package manager is not as easy to use as the Software Center in Ubuntu, and playing music is harder in Fedora with the Codecs, and cause a guy PC to not start up anymore. He also claims Fedora is for developers, and not the average user like myself who just want to use the computer instead of the computer messing with you by having you fix it when it is bad.

Another guy also had Fedora which failed to even start up...

I would advise agaisnt using fedora. Only because they are always on the bleeding edge side of things. They are always using the latest and greatest which means you will deal with bugs and such.

If you want to try a different distro you should try one of the following -

OpenSuse

Linux Mint

PClinuxOS

Mageia.

I'm a fan of Ubuntu. Saying that I'm skipping 12.04 and plan on waiting for 12.10.

Until then I still have Linux Mint 11 (has run flawlessly on my Dell laptop).

I plan on upgrading to Ubuntu 12.10 as well when it gets released, or installing the Beta version on a USB flash drive or CD to test out from a LiveCD or USB flash drive.

I always wanted to try Linux Mint, but my computer is low on hard drive space, so I don't have enough free hard drive space for it unless I delete some files, or buy a new hard drive.
