I was clearing up my computer because i was low on space, i have 2 anti-viruses that i did checks on and they both came back with different results so i got a 3rd one to check it, this anti-virus was a virus itself.
Every program i tried to open it said that it was a virus trying to send my credit card details to a remote host, and that i should register with them so they can fix it... which means using my credit card...

I couldnt do anything because i couldnt open anything, i had to restart in safe mode and look for a file in a folder that i couldnt see (then realised it was hidden....) and delete that file, although it has a auto-reinstall once you restart so i end up doing a system restore which takes me back 2 days... my 2 hours of hard work clearing up wasted....

I hate viruses...

Wow that sucks, lmao you shouldn't have downloaded an anti virus without checking testimonials and knowing who they are. 😛
 
I'd like to know as well. Tell us what it is so no one makes the mistake of downloading it again. 🙂
 
AVG-Free 😛 Also One anti virus is enough. Having more then one on a computer confuses both anti virus's.
 
I found out it wasn't the program but the site I downloaded it from (can't remember it because I deleted my history) but now it's downloaded another program called security suite which is apparently the hardest pieces of malware to remove I need to get better antivirus

anyone know good antivirus and antimalware?

i have avg free and ccleaner
 
Scareware eh? Thought it was usually not that hard to get rid of. Good luck

Seriously, I would highly recommend AVAST! over AVG, because AVAST! has an option to scan your computer before Windows boots up, which makes it one of the few antivirus programs I've seen that can remove trojans and 'sleepers'.

Microsoft Security Essentials has been protecting me and hasn't failed yet.
