I must say the VisualFX community is awesome. Congratulations and thanks for contributing to help achieve the goal of 215 members and 20,000 posts. It has taken some time, but we did it. The staff have been planning what's to come including hours upon hours of coding, designing, and sharing thoughts on what should happen once we hit the goal. This is truly a landmark for VisualFX, as it grows larger. We are now going on almost 8 months since we opened back in January, thanks to everyone here.
Well, that's enough for the speech, let's get on to the things that have been anticipated....
Donations & The Donor Group
Donations for VisualFX are now being taken! We don't want it to seem like were begging for money, but it will be nice to have money around for keeping domains renewed, getting new custom modifications, and potentially bigger things like ZB Premium. The Donor group is a new group that is specially recognized similarly to elites. To get a spot in the donor group, there is a minimum donation of $5 USD. Thanks in advance to anyone who donates!

Earlier this month, there was a good deal on domains. We purchased a second domain, VisualFXForum.com. It currently points straight to our forum at the moment, unless we ever need it for something else. Were announcing it simply to notify everyone that we do have the second domain.
Featured Graphic of the Week
You may remember we had something similar to this in the early months of VisualFX, and we are now bringing it back with a whole new concept. We will now be featuring some graphic in any showcase. The featured graphic and designer, will get a topic in recognition. Also, on our new theme, we have a slider showing the latest 5 featured graphics, starting now!
VisualFX Domains
We are now introducing custom domains. These will be available in the VisualFX Market. You can request a name.visual-gfx.com to redirect to something on the forum, whether it be a topic, store, or profile. For example, I could have nick.visual-gfx.com link to my profile. These domains are available for 200 V-Bucks, and we are limited so please put it to use! Note: These are being introduced because of the next thing below.
VisualFX Portfolios
You can now have your own portfolio on VisualFX! This is one of our main additions. We're using a modified version of the ZB Blog, but with heavy modifications. You'll have to buy access to the blog with V-Bucks, visit the VFX Shop for more details in the Marketplace. Once you do that, you can set up your portfolio to show off your best work to everyone else. But wait, there's more! Once you have it set up, a button will appear on your profile and on all of your posts linking users to your portfolio! This is added via the admin cp, but someone will add it as soon as you buy your portfolio access! For more information on this, PM a staff member.
VisualFX Optimus
Here is the baby of this goal. VisualFX Optimus is a new multicolored, dark, amazing theme. Each category including the shoutbox and statistics each have their own color, for example the community section is a light green. The theme also showcases the entries of the Community Project that Sarah introduced. We said if you entered, you were contributing to our surprise, and it certainly did! The theme also showcases the latest featured graphics in the slider next to the header. Special thanks to Sarah, who designed the whole theme, and helped a ton with most of the coding, she made this theme happen! And do you see that open spot in the banner? That's because we still have one spot open in the community graphic project! We could have finished it off, but now that you know your creation can be in the header of our default theme, perhaps you'll be a bit more motivated to enter! Just PM Sarah your entry any time (though read the project topic first for details)!
It took us a while, many good days and many slow days as well, but we pulled through. I think that wraps it up for this time, but we promise new stuff like this will come again sometime! We hope everyone enjoys the new things we brought. Enjoy!
