Do you volunteer your time to help people out? If so, what do you do?

I have been volunteering 10 hours a week to cook for those in need for the last month and a half.

I usually volunteer around the holidays at different food banks. I also participate in a program that delivers food to those who otherwise cannot get out to get it themselves.

I would if I could.

I have a small criminal history. Everyone young f*cks up one way or another. I just am glad I went with the criminal side of things than the drugs etc. As that stuff is more dangerous.

Anyway - Even though I did spend a couple months in prison still getting punished. These organizations cry out for help yet when I try they say no thanks. Understand yes it's my fault about the convictions but doesn't everyone deserve a second chance?

Don't want to make this into a debate so I'll make it simple... Yes I would volunteer all the time in the world if I could.

I would, but there's not really anything out here to volunteer at. I plan on volunteering at the hospital in a few months, though.

You know you are volunteering though? You do work at FP right?

You're still working for free.

I did a little volunteer work at a retirement home when I was in high school, it was a school project at first but I stayed on longer than I was required to because I liked it, made friends with the staff and the residents.

It became emotionally draining after a few of the residents died. I was aware (going in) that people in retirement homes could kick the bucket at any time, but once it started happening while I was there, the reality of it all was more heartbreaking and sad than I expected. For example, I'd be playing chess with a resident (someone I formed a bond/friendship with) one day and they'd be gone forever the next day.

I don't do volunteer work at the moment but I would be interested in doing some.
