Want a dedicated server for only 3 Euros?

The Intel Atom was never designed as a server processor, I wouldn't be surprised if those servers were actually quite slow, although it is an interesting concept.

Interesting. You kind of see Atom processors in Net-books. A warning to people not one the wise you might find performance issues with this and I think a very small website with very little traffic would suite for this.

This ought to be interesting, I agree. These seem to run regular processors and none of their processors are server processors.

I bet it's like the little engine that could. Barely chugs along.

Can you give us the specifications of the dedicated servers and the plans( if there)?

A user on LowEndTalk said they got a Intel Atom N2800 at 1.86GHz, quad-core. 100Mbps unmetered bandwidth too.

The atom isn't 4 cores. That's the i5.

This Dedicated server maybe a good cheap alternative to a shared web host which sometimes close down your site when it is using too much CPU, and RAM, or it is slowing down other websites on the same shared web host.

The only issue is the self management. You would have to secure the server yourself and manage it if anything went wrong. Plus you wouldn't be able to use cPanel.

I think these are great for a play around with or remote desktop!

You can easily put on cPanel on it, They allow you to buy it for €24.99 / month during checkout. I wouldn't recommend it. You can probably run a few websites off the dedicated without using cPanel if you know what your doing.
(Also most Dedicated Servers are Self Managed unless you pay or pay per hour, Usually)

If they are giving out Quad Cores they are Quad Cores for Servers. http://ark.intel.com/products/family/71 ... ver/server

Also they do ask for ID and you would need to prove your outside the UK for them to remove the VAT after the first invoice.

One of the benefits of a dedicated server is that you got full control even if it is a cheap dedicated server, and if someone has years of web mastering, and server administrating, securing a server should not be too hard, and If they need help there are a lot of forums, and tutorials online and offline for running a dedicated server on your own.

I read some shared hosting like GoDaddy can be pretty bad at securing web servers, and a bunch of websites hosted on GoDaddy got infected by a Byte64 virus according to GoDaddy's forum at http://support.godaddy.com/groups/web-h ... s-is-back/
