Want a new website

Hello All,

I want to create a new website with new domain and everything else. I am an NRI living in Florida US from last 12 years and now I want to create a website which helps all NRIS to find anything related to Indians. Here I have found some sites which I liked very much:

I want similar website mixture of all above and wants to include all categories related to Indians.

Next I want to select which platform Should I choose: Php or Dot net?

I heard php is free open source platform but less secure and dot net is very good. It's also expensive.

Please guide me in this issue.

WordPress probably would be a better option for you depending on your web development knowledge. You will just have to watch the security as sometimes WordPress lacks security. But there are plugins for that. Your going to need a hosting software or your own server with IIS. Your going to need a domain name from a registrar. You will also most likely need a few MySQL database servers.

Even facebook was coded using PHP so i dont see why you will say it isnt secure. Any way you can try out wordpress, it is a really powerful cms for buiding dynamic website and managing your website will be a piece of cake. Your call, just choose something that will impact positively to your business.
