This article gives a strong "No", but considering this is probably an
anti-colonial story, as in the 1100s England was ruled by Frenchmen and assimilation between the natives and conquerors hadn't happened yet, it's believable people would like Robin Hood, no matter the dark side

I believe there was someone who took from the rich and gave to the poor, but I'm not so sure his name was Robin Hood or that he had Merrymen in his gang. I asked ChatGPT about it and although there is nothing conclusive, there is historical information that the legend had grown greatly by the 1300s and that outlaws were commonly nicknamed Robin Hood, much like how we call people John Doe when we don't know their name.

It's true robin hood was righteous and he was brilliant archer on the last castle before he came back to england on the king ship after escaping the king for speaking the truth the king was murdered and robin hood took his crown back to king brother has robin longstrider the one who was meant to bring crown home but got invaded by french ambush someone who was going to assassinate the king.

before the french was going to take over england robin banded the clans of all houses west and south a liittle bit north to take on French then their was attack on the real robin longstrider father. (i think robin longstrider was robin hood name but their was person who was meant to take the crow home but robin played has him then the father of person who was meant to take the crown home anyway he village norttigham gets attack by fake english men the french and kills the father then robin comes in and catch leader of the group and finds out where when the invision takes place.

The dark side robin hood only used he dark side what was for the right reasons and in them times people respected that. but he only took orders from his king which is still respectful even though that king was freaking cruel what he did robin hood spoke the truth in front of the king and troops that where robin hood journey begin.
