"The book was better than the movie!" is something people always say.

What do you prefer, watching the movie or reading the book?

If you could pick one over the other, which would you pick? Watching movies or reading books?

I rather watch the film then reading a book, I'm not much of a book reading person in fact, always been like that even that the films shows far less then what the book tends to say

I always get moved more by books than films and series, but I'm much better at sitting idly by the TV than reading 😛

I actually prefer to watch the movie of a book or TV series. It’s not the same but some books can be quite long & I’m not into novels. Plus seeing the characters come to life helps set the stage.

I always prefer reading the book. I'll get around to watching the movie eventually but I'll always prefer reading the book.

My hubby doesn't read so you'll catch him watching the movie before you'll catch him with a book in his hands.

I’ll always roll with watching the movie, much easier to multitask that way. It’s so hard to find time in the day to sit down and just read.

Not much of a reader, I'd rather sit & watch a movie, personally.

I don't read a whole lot lately. I prefer to watch the movie.

I can't remember the last book I read after I left the university. But as for movies, I'm loving it very much. Movies are good for entertainment and relaxation. I go to the cinema once in a while.

I'm not much of a reader because I have the attention span of a crackhead, so I would go with a movie since it doesn't take near as long to watch as to read and the visual effects are generally pretty cool.

I generally prefer to read the book first and then see how the film maker's vision differs from mine.

I always like to do both as there are always differences between the books and the movies and watching and reading both gives you a different perspective on the story. Harry Potter is a perfect example of that with the books and the movies. THere was more in the books that weren't in the movies so it gave you two perspectives of the story.

I stick to watching the movie, I'm not much of a bookworm.
Watching movies is more relaxing than reading books. It feels like reading is more stressful compared to seeing a movie.

Books are great for learning information, and movies are better for telling stories with feelings. They are interchangeable in practice, but sometimes you still see things in movies you don't catch the first time, and sometimes books can use very descript settings and happenings for a different intended purpose.

Reading books is more of a commitment. You can multitask with film, or you watch several movies in the time it'd take to read a longer book. For that reason, I lean more into film (and because I love film). That said, I also love reading (and gaming, for that matter). It all depends on what you're looking for, their experience is apples-to-oranges.

I can't concentrate on books but I can with movies.

I like both. I believe that most people are able to imagine an amazing scene from books and that's why most movies don't do books justice according to most readers.

I love to read, but find that I don't have as much time for it like I used to. Watching the movie is a lot faster so I'll opt for that. But I do agree that the book version is almost always better than any movie version.

Same here. I don't really care these days. I'm just looking for entertainment lol.
