Ways of giving back to the community?

When I say giving back, it's in regards to your members. How to you spend the donations in efforts to give back to your members for their time, and valuable membership?

Put the money into a fund for the site. Develop new skins or modifications just for your site.

Even just using the money to keep the site up by paying for hosting/domains should keep your members content.

No argues from me on this response. All makes sense, the reason I made this thread is take the ideas made here combined with my own, and transpose them into an article at a later time.

Give some of it back to the forums (in contests, prizes, custom themes, etc.). Maybe you could also donate to charities or other sites on behalf of the whole forum as well.

Very good idea about the charity thing. Give back to a site in need, or something, or of course charities that take care of kids. Who knows, making that donation may get ya a thank you letter and someone check out your site.

I gave a CD out. It came from my own money, like the entire site. No ads (anymore).

Cool I like where this topic is going, by using some of these ideas, or at least speaking about them I can create a useful tid bit of information/ideas for people thinking about ways of giving back (or in thought) making people come to the site.

Possibly upgrade forum or the software itself.

Truth is in the pudding. Yeah I have noticed that even something simple as upgrading can attract people into the site, or keeping them where they are.
