Is it just me or are they popping up all over the place, I have started seeing new ones created daily whether they be free p2h or an actually Web Hosting company. Either way it is actually making it harder for me to trust new hosts as a lot of them go down after or a little before the first month of being open, people like that make it hard for people to take a chance at a new host due to the fear of being ripped off cause the host shuts down and you have no way of getting your money back.
Most of them are resellers where the owner has almost no clue about hosting. Just go with hosts that are developed (at least 6 months active with customers).
Yeah exactly, I mean I have no problem with being one of the first people to give them a hand at starting there business but it's just hard to know if they'll be there the next day or if you are going to wake up and have your site deleted.
This is also where knowing the person that's starting it and knowing that they have the budget to start one.
People that make web hosts now like you said assume that they can make enough money on selling hosting to cover costs for the reseller account they have but in fact it just doesn't happen that way, I've learned that myself.
Trust me, I know all about the hosting business. I done it for a year now and it's tough fighting for loyal customers. I now work for ExcelledHosting which is pretty good and is here to stay.
