i'm curious, what do you find acceptable? (was kinda struggling with this myself).

if I look at an example in this genre forum, webmaster-talk.com, they have two 300x250 ads every few posts. I find that unacceptable but it makes me wonder...

Well when I used to display ad networks( Google ads, bidvertiser, etc) on my forum. i used to put them in the threads( above the footer). So there only visable when someone views a thread.

thanks again, took most ads off and will consider where to put them over time.
I guess there is no point to advertising now anyway.
