Hello,

I have a spare webmaster domain and as forums aren't as hopeful for this area due to the amount we have, is there still a spot for a webmaster blog considering there are loads currently out?

I don't see why not.

Just got to work at it, like everything else. Sure it can get competitive, but let that be your motivation.

What is the domain name? Does it specifically use the word, 'webmaster'?

Also, if you want a webmaster blog, why not focus on a niche not already over saturated or popular. Look at webmaster trends and see where things are going and then start your blog in that direction and you'll have many posts already in Google by the time other webmasters jump on board with the idea.

If I was you I'd do something more specific than the other thousands of webmaster blogs out there.

I have an idea that I thought of for you...

Have the blog dedicated to offering detailed plugin and theme reviews and comparisons across a range of different forum softwares. This is a good project in my opinion if you do it right.

I think a forum would still work, they just take dedication, you won't have a following in a week but maybe a year later you might. Give them something that you feel is missing on the forums you belong to.

You need to build a list of contacts, webmasters, etc.. to really get one off the ground. If you can manage promoting it and driving traffic, then I don't see why not. But if your starting from scratch and don't have anyone to promote it too, is it worth the time to invest in it to you?
