Wix and Squarespace website builders give the users flexibility and it is also affordable. Users who lack programming skills can develop websites. This saves a lot of money without advanced programming abilities. All you need to do is drag-and-drop. They also let us gain access to customizable templates.

I think Wix and Squarespace are great options for those who don't have the knowledge to make a website. I have a coworker who is thinking about making her own website since she's been doing modeling on the side and I brought up Squarespace to her.

If you are in need of a web site builder, consider using Wix and Squarespace, especially when you want to have a good looking website and you are poor in coding. They are easy to use, are flexible and offer customisable templates.

In my opinion, they each do their job well in their own way, and you can't really compare them directly.
Website builders are more suitable for single-page websites and showcase sites. Manual coding, on the other hand, can offer significantly more opportunities for those who want to automate customer interactions.
If you prefer to negotiate with customers directly, then website builders are the obvious choice.

Website builders usually give you junk. People who don't know how to at least install Wordpress and tweak a theme have no idea how to SEO their builder websites, which means they get NO traffic and no rankings. The words websites I got to audit as an SEO were built like this and then it cost them thousand of bucks to get it optimized. If you plan to earn a living off your website (are a business or freelancer), you need to invest in a proper one. Web development itself is not really as needed as it used to, you can build a super well optimized website without coding. I used to code my websites, then coded Wordpress themes from scratch, now I use a framework and we add content, images and proper styling. Less work and still excellent ranking results.

She should consider Shopify personal so she can sell apparel or whatever else she wants

Website builders are good but they aren't better than content management systems. I mean wix isn't better than WordPress

I think building websites with AI might be the way to go nowadays. You can build projects that would normally take several months in minutes with vibe coders/AI.
