Website Design Feedback

There's more to those than at first sight. Click one of them.

I think youre using too many images in replacement for text, its a shame you havent done the text over the top of the images with the images set as a background. I am also not keen on the bright colours used particularly the green and red, you could tone them down a little.

Also you have a few errors that you may want to fix:

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http% ... ne&group=0

http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/vali ... =1&lang=en

Perhaps stick the CSS3 in another CSS file too 🙂

Also it would be a good idea for your navigation to go back to its original state when you move the mouse away from it, they stick there even when you move the mouse away and requires another click to hide them.

All the errors are super nit-picky errors that only an XHTML validator would catch, like lack of some sort of useless tag or lack of the alt attribute. Also I don't see why putting the CSS3 in another file does anyone any good. It's CSS3, anything that doesn't support it is to blame.

Well adding the CSS3 to another file would mean your main CSS file will validate. Its not that important though. It is still a good idea with you using that DOCTYPE to fix the errors.

Its not that important though
this.

Anyway, it takes the browser a bit longer to load, as it has to get two CSS files rather than one.

Very nice except the navigation bar buttons.

I also agree and when you click it, I like the effect but then I think you should also move the blue box down 🙂

Overall I love the design of the site and I can not wait to use the CMS when it comes out, I really liked cosmicboards

It's not the most recent development version, but I have it installed here:

I prefer the newer version, it looks great. Very good domain name, by the way.

Alt tags are important, not everyone browsing the Internet has good vision. Alt tags allow those that are using screen readers to browse the Internet more comfortably and are an important part in accessibility.

The homepage isn't running the CMS yet. It's just solid HTML right now. I'll put that into the CMS later.

Very good domain name, by the way.
Thanks. 🙂

Yeah.

I'm using Safari 4 and none of the nav links work when I click them, the support forum link does when I click it loads of times though. But onto the design, more padding needs to be used on certain areas of the site, with all of your designs really I find that there isn't much padding, a few more pixels would make it better.

Also the navigation bar is boring and the colours don't suit it. Improvement is needed but it's not to bad.

*Edit: Also does this act sort of like a blog system?

I like it. Although Like Dan, the nav links don't work for me. Other than that, great design Cosmic.

White background, in your face colours and horrible gradients. Why is everything based on pictures? Takes longer to load. The painting pallet image is also pixelated. It looks like something that was made pre 2000.

Really doesn't appeal to me at all.
