I'm usually quick to value forums and they tend to be quite low but Bizdustry is quite active and I don't know how much money you make from it so it wouldn't be fair to come up with any figure.

But if you wanted to sell it, I think using an escrow service is a must and back up everything just in case something goes wrong. In terms of value though, you need to look at what you gain from the site. I don't like domains much as they are (especially .com) typically only about $10 approximately. The real value is the software, content and how much activity is currently has and how much money you take from it.

I take around 10-30USD$ daily from Bizdustry and expenditure is roughly 20-25USD$ leaving me with 5$ profit (150USD Monthly).

You should start by totalling up any fixed assets:
  • Software
  • Addons
  • Domain (you can use a calculator to work out its approximate worth based on DA and extension)

Then total up the semi-fixed assets such as:
  • Ad Revenue / month * 24 or 36 (ad revenue worth is generally calculated by multiplying by between 24 - 36 months)
  • Rolling subscriptions - subscribers (memberships etc. - people who have signed onto longer term plans)
  • Membership Acqusition (roughly how many people per month join the paid membership subscription referred to above)

Then you might want to factor in any additional factors such as:
  • SEO / Organic Search ranking
  • Social Media presences
  • PR & any high quality backlinks
  • Reputation / the 'brand'
  • Any business entities - Ltd. companies, trademarks or patents
  • Activity levels
  • Quality of content (evergreen being best)

Obviously, there’s a million other factors at play, and the value of the forum depends on what someone is willing to pay. That may be two years, or it may be ten years.

I’ve seen individuals really reach and pay a premium, especially when it has come to websites within webmaster/tech/business niches. You used to be able to go right over to Flippa and cash out easily. That isn’t the same these days though.

As for how to handle the transaction, you definitely have to use Escrow. I’d insist on it for any transaction that’s over $500. If you go the Flippa route, they have an Escrow service built in, which is convenient, and more affordable. If you don’t go with Flippa, you could still just set up a contract on Escrow’s website. None of these things are free, but In the grand scheme of things, forking over the cash for Escrow is definitely worth it.

Somebody offered me 7500$ for Bizdustry but I turned down the offer. Looking for at least 15,000$ and even then, I’d have to consider the offer.

Just go to Escrow.com. The homepage has a form you can fill out right off the bat. I haven’t used it since I bought WWEF, but it’s pretty simple. I’m sure they have some kind of file to add to your site so they can verify that you own it. Just like Flippa. You’ll want to be very specific when laying out the terms. Make sure both parties are aware of what is included and what isn’t. Everything included should be listed out. Social media accounts, ad platform accounts, etc.
