Well, it passed

I guess it all comes down to a decision of whether or not money is more important than human life.

Anyone can go to the emergency and get care, usually. This is america, not Africa.

Anyway, it is important, but this is not the right reform to make. This bill is designed as a government takeover of insurance, not a practical measure. This bill is expected to rise insurance costs, in fact.

All of that just because you don't like a little extra money needed on taxes 😛

Y'all are discussing the principle of healthcare reform, not this bill they passed.

The problem is that the Republicans won't compromise, and the Democrats won't take a stand.

According to polls, voters won't compromise either. 60% do not like this bill and 11% do like it, according to a recent poll. They are supposed to represent us. Maybe the republicans remember that, thus voting unanimously against?

Do you remember the health care summit? Obama invited them and he ended up doing more talking than all republicans combined. The republicans proposed changes,. but they were ignored. the media is telling you this, but it is just not so. The republicans are NOT the party of "NO".

Are you forgetting that the majority of Americans support a public option?

Your first article shows that when given extra information, including that being a stepping stone to government run single payer, or that the government would have an advantage over private, the voters said "no thanks". Also the trend at the end of the stats shows the people in favor decreasing.

The second article is ny-times members only.

Wow, did I hear correctly that someone said "Health care" can wait. Are you kidding me? Tell that to a family that is struggling and needs health care but their employer wont give it to them. Then come back and you can say that.

Many small businesses are not as prosperous as Microsoft. They cannot always afford insurance for their employees.

Tell the poor, impoverished, and struggling small businessman that.

You guys that are opposing the bill, there seems to be a trend. You are all still on mommy and daddy's insurance. Meaning you have no clue what it is like to not have it.

The fact that you would even consider bringing something from Rush Limbaugh's web site into this debate is laughable.
